1000 Families In 1000 Homes In 100 Days

This program, conceived by Emerson Brantley in Spring 2009 and to be launched in August 2009, aims to help thousands of families nationwide own a home of their own. The key players include City Capital and highly-regarded national real estate authority Louis Brown of Trust Properties.WEB3Direct brought all the various players together to create a national launch. And, every participant is enjoying multiple feedback loops bringing in new business and investors.

Millions of people across America want a home of their own but, for a variety of reasons, cannot buy one using conventional means. Many had possibly owned a home at one time, but when their ARM loan payment doubled or tripled, they and their family were suddenly homeless. Some were victims of predatory lending or fraud, while others were simply outside the increasingly tight, reactive banking guidelines, and shut out of the American Dream as a result.

Real estate investors, widely considered a major player in the bubble-bust economy, were in reality the solution to this national problem. And so, the concept of creating a national program -- a national movement -- began to develop: to help 1000 families become owners of their own home in 100 Days. He reasoned that with an achievable goal that captured the imagination of the media, the public, churches and other non-profits, the program could have explosive success beyond the initial numbers.

He shared the concept with two people: Ephren Taylor, CEO of City Capital Corporation, and Louis Brown, of Trust Properties. City Capital is a public corporation (CTCC) whose long-time objective of "Socially-Conscious Investing To Empower Communities" is oriented towards bringing together individual investors and creating opportunities for their funds to do "double duty," by providing a fair return on their investment while impacting the people and communities all around us. Then, by turning these investors into "serial" investors, their profits are continually reinvested in more and more socially-conscious projects, magnifying our effectiveness and creating a positive impact on a national basis. Over almost four years Emerson had worked with CEO Ephren Taylor to create massive, positive media collateral that could be mobilized to get the word out nationally.

33-year national real estate authority Louis Brown (Trust Properties), is a highly-regarded speaker and national trainer from Atlanta Georgia. Emerson had known Lou for 15 years, and always respected his integrity within the real estate investing field. Lou has served as the founding president of the National Real Estate Investor Association, past president of Georgia REIA and he has over 15,000 students and licensees who he has taught to create win-win-win transactions that help families. Lou already had the systems (Street Smart Investing) in place and the infrastructure to incorporate thousands of individual investors across the country, all working in the same socially-conscious way, allowing a high degree of quality and consistency.

The three created a new entity to oversee the program, 1000 Homes, LLC, and began the process of establishing a non-profit to run the program. Together they agreed to bring together socially-conscious real estate investors, community leaders, churches and nonprofits, and government agencies, to help 1000 families purchase a home of their own in 100 days. The vision for the program allows it to be decentralized, so that all the individual components can function independently of each other and take the limitations off the longterm effectiveness. Eventually, the program itself will grow into a national movement, with private investors working to put families back into homes and turn around the economy.

There is nothing magic about "1000 Families," "1000 Homes," or "100 Days." The objective is to help tens of thousands of families get into a home of their own. It will extend well beyond "100 Days," and may even morph in identity to reflect the growing number of families successfully helped into homes of their own (think McDonalds and hamburgers sold).
